 ThomsonFly 757 bird strike & flames captured on video
This incident was video recorded by Simon Lowe. 233 people where on board this jet bound for Lanzarote. The number 2 engine sucks in one bird (a crow or corvid) as the plane rotates off the runway. T.V. news reports of two herons being sucked in are wrong. Congratulations to the crew and air-traffic controllers for the calm and professional way they dealt with the situation. A bird strike (sometimes birdstrike, bird hit, or BASH (bird aircraft strike hazard)) in aviation, is a collision between an airborne animal (most often a bird, but also sometimes another species) and a man made vehicle, especially aircraft. It is a common threat to aircraft safety and has caused a number of fatal accidents.Fortunatly the instructor and trainee survivrd the accident the aircraft was BAE Hawk.

 Bird strike!
Some shots of what happens when birds take a dislike to each other in flight. It's fascinating how in some of the shots the smaller bird (a falcon called a hobby) makes a half-roll onto its back then rights itself just before knocking the larger bird (a buzzard) out of the sky.

29/04/2007 - TOM4263 Manchester outbound flight to Lanzarotti, Hits two poor birds. :-( Engine goes on fire and the plane circles round for 45 mins before landing safely, Nobody was injured. Great landing guys.

 Take off in Gibraltar with Bird Strike and emergency landing
A Bird hit our A319 after take off from Gib (You can hear the vibrations when the engine is hit by the bird at sec 47). Afterwards the engine has been shut down and we have been diverted for an emergency landing with only one running engine in Malaga. Have fun all went well and the crew aboard was very professional.
