About Yanka Rupkina
Yanka Rupkina played a major role in the growing popularity of Balkan music in the 1980s. Together with Stoyanka Boneva and Eva Georgieva, Rupkina formed the Trio Bulgarka, a vocal group affiliated with Le Mystere Des Voix Bulgares.
Le Mystere Des Voix Bulgares gained international prominence through their contributions to the groundbreaking 1975 world music album Le Mystere des voix Bulgares, originally released on the Swiss label Disques Cellier and later reissued on Britain's 4AD Records and the German Jaro label.
Trio Bulgarka comprises Yanka Rupkina from Strandja, Stoyanka Boneva from Pirin and Eva Georgieva from Dobroudja. Their diversity of regional backgrounds enabled them to create a unique sound to their music. They signed to record labels Bulgaria Balkanton and Hannibal in 1987.
Two years later they featured on The Sensual World album by Kate Bush on the songs "Deeper Understanding", "Never Be Mine", and "Rocket's Tail". In 1993 they appeared on another Kate Bush album, The Red Shoes, in the songs "You're the One", "The Song of Solomon", and "Why Should I Love You?", which also featured Prince. The trio have since concentrated on solo projects but often re-form for concert appearances.
Rupkina subsequently performed as a solist for the national television and radio Bulgaria group, the Balkana.

Eurovision 2008 Bulgaria WINNER song - DJ, Take Me Away
Performer:Deep Zone & Balthazar, Song title: DJ, Take Me Away . The winner is...The televoting ended with a very tight result: Only a very small margin was between first placed Deep Zone & Balthazar and second placed Georgi Hristov & Gianni Fiorellino. The winning song DJ, Take Me Away is an energetic dance track, the fast rhythm of which is interrupted by several slower parts, sung by a young female singer. The stage performance features a lot of dancing and running on stage, which fits the song very well. Bulgaria will compete in the Second Semi-Final of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest on the 22nd of May.

After twelve preliminary heats and one semi-final, the Bulgarian representative for the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest was finally picked tonight. This also marked the end of the EuroBGvision project, one of the most extensive national finals in the history of the Eurovision Song Contest. During the interval act of tonight's show, the winner of the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest, Ruslana, was performing while the TV public could decide on the winner by televoting.
Deep Zone Project was formed in 2000 by three musicians, DJ's and studio engineers, who are recognised in Eastern Europe for their talent for song writing and making club remixes. After the release of their debut album "Ela Izgei" in 2002, DJ Dian, Rossko, Luybomir Savov (Dian's father) and Yoanna aka Deep Zone Project, were nominated in a smashing five categories at the 2002 MM TV Music Awards (www.mmtv.bg) for: "Best Song", "Album of the Year", "Band of the Year", "Best Video" and "Debut of 2002". The Award "Best Song" was well deserved as their track "Ela Izgrei" was massive hit around the Balkans. In the next year 2003 they left the MM TV Awards Ceremony with another award - their track "Without Coffein" won the "Best Club Track of the Year". Their song "Mystika" was included in the "Release Yourself" radio show, played by Roger Sanchez all over the world
One of the UK's best house music label "Seamless Recordings" (www.seamlessrecordings.co.uk) has licensed their first track "I feel Like" for the prestigious compilation "The White House" (Bargrooves) among top producers like: Silicone Soul, Mark Knight & MTV, Tony Thomas, David Penn and Kerri Chandler to name a few. Their song " I Challenge You " (feat. EL-VIS) has reached Number 2 Position at MTV Europe's "World Chart Express"(www.mtv.tv) and Number1 for three weeks at national Bulgarian music chart: "BG Top 100". The colaboration with DJ Balthazar took the group to another dimention with their massive national club tour "Welcome To The Loop" which gathered 15 000 people.
