2005-08-06 07 Sodertälje Hamn to Sodertälje C
In this the final video from my 2005 European Railroad adventure, the train travels the last leg from Södertälje Hamn (port) to Södertälje Centrum.
After a few days to relax, I take a trip back to the Vattravägen crossing to video the crossing arm sequences to compare them to the US ones I am so familiar with.
If you would like to know, I traveled from Milton Keynes, to London, to Paris, to Köln, to København, to Stockholm....all by train; roughly 1500 miles. However, with duplicated miles, more like 2000.

2005-08-06 06 Tumba to Sodertälje Hamn
After Tumba, we head uphill from the station. On the right, with the large smokestack, is Sweden's printing facility for their money, as well as contracting to other governments to have their currency printed.
Next is the railroad crossing at Vattravägen. Prior to the crossing, there is a 'dead head' signal that is used to warn the train operators the status of the crossing, weather it is clear to proceed or if there is an obstruction. You will also notice that the tracks separate prior to the crossing itself. There once was a station here called Uttran which has now been removed. Thanks Johan for the info! Johan has an AWESOME page with great photos on the SJ and SL, visit it at http://hem.bredband.net/b305188/index.htm
Then we have station stops at Rönninge, Östertälje, then we have a paired arrival at the Södertälje Hamn station.
