His Holiness The XVII Karmapa and Rinpoches' 2007 New Year B
His Holiness The XVII Karmapa and Rinpoches' 2007 New Year Blessings.
[On the screen: His Holiness and Rinpoches's New Year Blessings]
[Fireworks on New Year Eve in front of Pal Tergar Rigdzin Khacho Dargye Ling, Bodh Gaya, Decemebr 31, 2006]
[His Holiness the 17th Karmapa in Tibetan]
[time mark: 00:54]
New Year celebration is not only a tradition or a festival, and we can also view it as a great opportunity for changes. Therefore at the beginning of the New Year, we should abandon those difficulties and frustrations we had experienced in the past, lift up our spirit, and make a resolution for New Year.
[time mark: 1:30]
To renew our life is very important. Here I want to express my wishes for all the Chinese to accumulate auspiciousness and to have longevity and good health in the New Year.
[time mark: 2:00]
[The 4th Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche speaks in Tibetan]
To all the stuff and members of the HwaYue foundation: Tashi Delek (means auspiciousness in Tibetan).
Happy New Year! [Rinpoche speech in English].
[time mark: 2:12]
[The 7th Yongey Mingyur Dorje Rinpoche]
Soon will come the Chinese New Year. Here I want to wish everyone Tashi Delek. I Also wish every viewer Tashi Delek. I have been supplicating the Three Jewel to bless all sentient beings, especially to the reviewers like you, that everything will be smooth and peaceful. In the New Year may your work be successful without obscurations, may you be healthy, and be free of worries.
[time mark: 2:52]
Particularly, I supplicate the Three Jewels to bless you for good dharma practices. I also wish you all can constantly think of the Three Jewels and ask for their blessings. Especially, at the beginning of a New Year one should make a virtuous aspiration. One should think that: Oh! It is the beginning of the New Year now!
And contemplate on impermanence because the past of the last year is a demonstration of impermanence. The remembrance of the impermanence is quite beneficial.
[time mark: 3:26]
At the same time, one should also give rise to great encouragement, a new responsibility and commitment.
One should make an aspiration that in the New Year one will do the best to conduct good deeds and do the best to avoid one's misdeeds. Or make an aspiration to practice the Budda dharma authentically. One does not need to do many practices, but just focus on one method with full attention.
[time mark: 3:51]
Do not demand too many different practices of yourself because if you do so, you might not be able to practice them all well. In short, in this New Year one should keep a benevolent mind, and do your best to conduct benevolent acts with your body, speech, and mind.
If you can do so, then that will be wonderful!
A New Year is like a new life. The festival celebration is just a different label to it, and it symbols changes of time.
[time mark: 4:33]
Finally, I wish everyone full of dharma auspiciousness, a healthy body, a mind free of worries, and all that you wish can be accomplished. Tashi Delek!
[time mark: 4:48]
[Venerable Choje Rinpoche, Principle of the Karma Lekshey Ling Buddhist Institute, speaks in Tibetan]
Generally speaking, years after years, it is a New Year now.
New Year is a time for us to rethink about our life and a great opportunity to face our life.
In the New Year, let us all make an aspiration that may the obscurations and negativities of this life be purified, and may auspicious affinities and wealth increase.
[time mark: 5:17]
Straightly speaking, may we be free from all the sufferings and may we obtain the ultimate enlightenment of the Buddha.
With this opportunity, I wish you all Happy New Year.
Thank you.
[time mark: 5:30]
[His Holiness the Karmapa speaks in Chinese]
Here gather many dharma friends. In my heart, I feel like having a reunion with my family.
[applauses from the audience]
[time mark: 5:58]
In this sacred place where Buddha obtained enlightenment and the Pure Land of the Thousand Buddhas, I make an aspiration that my body, speech, and mind will always accompany you. [applauses from the audience]
That is, to provide you comforts and to alleviate your sufferings.
This is my New Year aspiration.
[applauses from the audience]
I also wish every sangha member and every layperson to live long, be healthy, and enjoy the splendor of the dharma.
[applauses from the audience]

The Final Goodbye to His Holiness Maha Ghosananda
Song title: Om Mani Padme Hum
Thousands of people came to pay their final respects to His Holiness Samdech Preah Maha Ghosananda, Supreme Patriarch of Cambodian Buddhism at The Triratanaram Buddhist Temple in North Chelmsford, Massachusetts, USA.
Young and old around the world were ordained as Bhikkhu, novice monks and Buddhist nuns for 27 days to honor and to pay their final respects to His Holiness Maha Ghosananda during this Extra-Ordinary and Funeral Services.
The death of Samdech Preah Maha Ghosananda, a true disciple of Lord Buddha was a great loss to the world, Cambodian people and the nation.
Note: Some of these clips were shot during the time I traveled with His Holiness and many other Buddhist Monks to other Buddhist temples in the U.S.

This Video was made on Maha-Shiva-Ratri 2007 honouring Lord Shiva & Maheshwari; Lord Shivas Divine Shakti.

.......................................
The Maha-Shivaratri Festival or the 'The Night of Shiva' is celebrated with devotion and religious fervor in honor of Lord Shiva, one of the Dewatas of Vedic Trinity, the 3 Gunas, the destroyer of Ignorance.
Maha-Shivaratri falls on the moonless 14th night of the new moon in the Vedic month of Phalgun, which corresponds to the month of February - March in Western Calendar.
Celebrating the festival of Shivaratri devotees observe day and night fast and perform ritual worship of Shiva Lingam to appease Lord Shiva.
In Honour of the Divine Marriage (UNION) of Lord Shiva & His dear Shakti, Parvati-Dewi on Maha-Shiva-Ratri "I" made this Video.
The Date of Maha-Shiva-Ratri in 2008 is:
Wednesday, March the 5.& continue till Sunrise the next day.
Maha-Shiva-Ratri.
The celebration lasts from sunset till dawn (6. of March)!
In the Vedic calendar all Vedic celebrations are calculated by the so-called "Moon-Calendar".
The Name Maha-Shiva Ratri comes from the Root:
Maha= Big or Great
Shiva= Total Silence, the pure Atma, Transcendental Being, the Cosmic Self.
Ratri= Night & the Marriage of Lord Shiva with Parvati or Prakriti= Mother Nature.
Parvati symbolizes the highest Power/Shakti/Pure Prakriti/Matter/ in the Universe.
Let Bliss, Peace, Love & unbounded Joy rise up within your heart and from your heart it shall extend through the unbounded Universe to bring fulfilment to God's desire: "I will fill the whole world with joy!"
Jai Guru Dev
