(June 25)[Notes:video: WEWS, Cleveland Police Surveillance video] It began as a normal stop at a gas station for Fazliddin Yakubow (fawd-lah-dean yah-koo-bahv) and his son. It ended with a dramatic shooting and the man fighting for his life. Cameras roll as Yakubow returns from paying .. Police say he gets into a confrontation with a group of men. You can see him here -- brushing something off his head and arms. Minutes later -- he's standing by his car -- And then, flinching backward as he's shot several times. [Notes:video from inside]SOT: nats of shots You can hear the gunfire from a camera inside the store. [Notes:WEWS interview video] SOT: JIMMY ABBOUSHI/ Friend "I was like WOW...why him? Why's it gotta be him. He's nice. He had no problems." [Notes:shots of the restaurant closed]Jimmy Abushe works next door to the Yakubow's business near the gas station. The Turkish style restaurant has been closed since the shooting. SOT: They came from over seas to just see how it is over here...see how the restaurants are." [Notes:more surveillance video] No arrests have been made in the case.* Local Islamic officials are calling on police to treat it as a hate crime. Local media say the man and his son were taunted after a group of men heard them talking in their native Uzbek language. Yakubow was last listed in critical condition. ___ ___, The Associated Press.
